Intention Affirmation and Action
Let’s take a good look at intention, affirmation and action. Three critical steps to achieving anything you set out to do.
I have always loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles, since the time I could first walk. I recall seeing them occasionally throughout my life and would dream of one day riding one. My first motorcycle, a dirt bike, came at the age of 10 and then my first street bike at 16.
One of my favorite things to do on a Saturday was look through a magazine called The Auto Trader.
It was a newsprint magazine with a collection of all kinds of vehicles for sale including motorcycles which is where I saw it…
A 1957 Chopped Harley Davidson, custom painted and chromed. It was beautiful. It was like the picture was singing to me…
I was 17 working part time going to school but I knew I had to make it mine. What 17 year old has the resources to buy a Harley Davidson? Not me…but I had to find a way.
So I cut out the picture (that’s right… none of this taking a screenshot bullshit…things were real back then lol) and taped it above the light switch to my room.
Every single day when I left my room, I touched that picture and in 6 months almost to the day I owned the motorcycle.
It looked very close to this picture but not exactly…this is a ‘47
The first day I rode away on that bike I was so excited! I felt as though I had conquered the world, even though I almost wiped out because a ‘57 had the back brake and the gear shift on opposite sides. So I went to gear down and accidentally slammed on the back brake, putting me right sideways. Fortunately disaster was averted.
In order to be able to pull off owning a bike like that at 17, I had to achieve a miracle despite everyone around me telling me it was just wishful thinking.
If you believe the phrase you achieve what you think, then life truly stems from your thoughts, and my friends I am living truth.
You see, throughout my life I have encountered people who start sentences with “You’ll never…” or “You can’t…” or “That won’t…” . Telling me the things I will never be able to do or accomplish.
Sadly, what’s even more disappointing there are those who have and still do secretly hope i don’t achieve my goals.
But you know what – FUCK THAT! (Mom if you’re reading this… sorry for the language).
People say things like that because they don’t believe in themselves and they don’t want you to succeed because they haven’t and never will.
Secretly, your success will mean they have to go on living with the knowledge they have lived an unfulfilled life full of regrets, having never achieved their wishes and dreams.
That my friends would be a sad life, and I know it isn’t what you want for yourself.
But we cannot rely purely on thoughts; we must translate thoughts into intentions, then words and eventually into actions in order to manifest those intentions.
If you check out Wikipedia it says intention is a mental state that represents a commitment to carrying out an action or actions in the future. Intention involves mental activities such as planning and forethought. An affirmation is a declaration that something is true. For an affirmation to be effective, it needs to be present tense, positive, personal and specific.
The Importance Of Proper Affirmation
This means we have to be very careful with our words, choosing to speak only those which work towards our benefit and cultivate our highest good.
Affirmations help purify our thoughts and restructure the dynamic of our brains so that we truly begin to think nothing is impossible. The word affirmation comes from the Latin affirmare, originally meaning “to make steady, strengthen.”
When you create affirmations, you need to focus on what you want, not on what you don’t want. People often articulate their goals in negative terms. For example, “I want to be a lean and healthy person, full of energy” and “I don’t want to end up fat and out of shape” might seem like two ways of saying the same thing. They’re not.
To your subconscious brain, they are saying the opposite. Your subconscious doesn’t know the difference between “I want” and “I don’t want.” It just hears “healthy, full of energy” or “fat and out of shape.”
If you want to master your affirmation to create the health, wealth and prosperity you desire, I will show you how.
While positive affirmations come in many forms, the structure remains the same.
Whatever form you choose, be as clear, specific and succinct as possible:
Perfectly Scripted Affirmation
I am: A statement of who you are.
These are positive affirmations of a real state of being that exists in you. You can achieve a full list of ‘I am’ statements by taking a personal positive inventory of your attributes, strengths, talents and competencies.
- I am perfectly healthy in mind, body and spirit.
- I am a genius and I use my wisdom daily.
- I am passionate about everything I do.
I can: A statement of your potential.
This is a positive expression of your ability to accomplish goals. It is a statement in your belief in your power to grow, change and help yourself. I can statements could be designed after you have a set of goals.
- I can stop eating poorly easily.
- I can grow my business and be financially free.
I will: A statement of positive change in your life.
Positive affirmations of what you want to happen. It is a success prophecy. I will statements are developed after you have set your priorities and goals. Many times the word “will” can be removed to bring the statement to the present.
- I will love myself better each day.
- I will become more confident each day.
- I will do my visualizations daily.
You can intensify your affirmations with a single word—easily.
I am earning $1,000,000 a month versus I am easily earning $1,000,000 a month.
Notice how the word easily adds a sense of calmness and intensifies the positive emotional impact of the affirmation?
Affirmations do indeed strengthen us by helping us believe in the potential of an action we desire to manifest. When we verbally affirm our dreams and ambitions, we are instantly empowered with a deep sense of reassurance that our wishful words will become reality.
Affirmations are proven methods of self-improvement because of their ability to rewire our brains. Much like exercise, they raise the level of dopamines and push our brains to form new clusters of “positive thought” neurons. In the sequence of thought-speech-action, affirmations play an integral role by breaking patterns of negative thoughts, negative speech, and, in turn, negative actions.
No words are empty words, as every syllable we speak engages energy towards or against us. If you constantly say “I can’t,” the energy of your words will repel the universal force against you.
But if you say “I can!” the universe will endow you with the abilities to do just that. So speak away; eliminate your fears and let go of your anger.
Predict your own future and live up to your potential with these 10 affirmations that will improve your life:
1.) I am the architect of my life; I build its foundation and choose its contents.
2.) Today, I am brimming with energy and overflowing with joy.
3.) My body is healthy; my mind is brilliant; my soul is calm.
4.) I am superior to negative thoughts and low actions.
5.) I have been given endless talents which I begin to utilize today.
6.) I forgive those who have harmed me in my past and peacefully detach from them.
7.) Compassion washes away my anger and replaces it with understanding.
8.) (For business owners) My business is growing, expanding, and thriving.
9.) (If you’re married) My marriage is becoming stronger, deeper, and more stable each day.
10.) I possess the qualities needed to be extremely successful.
You can utilize any of these affirmations alone or create your own unique combination based on your personal wishes and needs.
Now, we have defined intentions and you should understand the full power of intention. It can guide your life.
You now understand how to build toward and execute your intention through well structured and positive affirmation.
You Cannot Ignore The Need For Action
The final step is action, because without action all of what you have read here is just fairy dust and bullshit.
You must take the steps, the actions, that will enable you execute your intentions. Want to lose weight? Eat properly. Want to earn more money? Wake up earlier and leverage your time better. Want to get bigger muscles? Get to the gym and move some weight whether it is your own body or some heavy iron.
What is most important is to establish a positive communication with the universe — so say it with conviction in your own unique voice, and make it happen in the real world.
After all, (read this out loud): I can achieve whatever I set my mind to.
